About the Author

Scott Kelley is the author of The Revelation of Jesus Christ: A Verse-by-Verse Commentary, a multi-volume study devoted to examining the final book of the Bible through the principle that Scripture interprets Scripture.

His approach emphasizes careful study of the biblical text, comparison of prophetic language throughout Scripture, historical context, and the central place of Jesus Christ throughout the Revelation.

The Purpose of the Commentary

The Revelation was not given to hide the truth from God’s people. Its very name tells us its purpose: to reveal. The commentary exists for the same reason: to help readers understand what God has already said.

The purpose is not to make Revelation say something new. It is to let Scripture interpret Scripture, and to see more clearly Christ, His church, His kingdom, His conflict with evil, and His ultimate victory.
